Following the decision to cancel the LXIII Conference of Parliamentary Committees for Union Affairs of the European Union (COSAC) due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the impacts of the earthquake that hit Zagreb, the Chairman of the European Affairs Committee Domagoj Ivan Milošević, acting as the chair of the COSAC, proposed that the Presidential Troika meet by video conference to exchange views on the further course of action of the COSAC as a forum for interparliamentary cooperation in light of the current crisis caused by the coronavirus.
The Presidential Troika held the extraordinary meeting on 20 May and decided that an Extraordinary Meeting of the Chairpersons of the Committees for Union Affairs would be held via video conference. The topics to discuss will be the common European response to the COVID-19 outbreak and its impacts on the Multiannual Financial Framework 2021-2027 and the Conference on the Future of Europe. The main points of the meeting will be presented to the Commission and the Council.
The meeting will be held from 09.00 to 12.00 hrs CET via the Cisco Webex platform. The instructions for registration and participation in the video conference are included in the technical information.
The meeting will be open to the public by means of web streaming.
