This Notice provides information on the collection and processing of personal data by the Croatian Parliament as data controller and on the rights protection. This Notice applies exclusively to personal data collected for the purpose of improving the operation of the website and for processing and answering your questions.

Personal data to be processed and the source of data

The Croatian Parliament protects the privacy of its users and website browsers. No personal data is collected about users, except when sent by e-mail from the user themself. In cases when the identity of the user/sender is known, their data is used only for the original purpose. Nevertheless, the user who sends personal data electronically should take into account the limitations of modern information and communication technologies, both in terms of security and privacy protection of personal data.

Data to be collected, if provided by the user/sender, is: name, surname and e-mail address.

For the purpose of maintaining security of the system and conducting web system performance analyses, technical data on users is collected on the web server of the Croatian Parliament which is non-personally identifiable information.

Purpose for processing personal data

We collect the date in order to make this site more enjoyable, functional and convenient.

Lawful basis for processing personal data

Processing is necessary for the legitimate interests of data collector (improvement of website, user’s experience and data protection) and within the meaning of Article 6 (1) (f) of REGULATION (EU) 2016/679 OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data and repealing Directive 95/46 / EC (hereinafter referred to as "General Regulation"). The aforementioned tasks and powers are laid down in the provisions of the General Regulation and of the Act on the Implementation of the General Data Protection Regulation.

Data to be collected will not be subject to solely automated decisions, including profiling.

Recipients of personal data

We may forward your personal data to providers of information and communication solutions and services that act as processing executors. We have concluded contracts with the aforesaid processing executives detailing the handling of personal data; therefore they are not allowed to process your personal data without our order or to forward such data to third parties.

Storage limitation

Personal data is processed until the purpose of processing is fulfilled. After termination of the purpose for which the data was originally collected, it is no longer used and stored in the storage system in accordance with terms stipulated by the regulations on the preservation of the archival data.

Data subject’s rights

Your rights are as follows:

  • right to access the personal data,
  • right to rectify the personal data,
  • right to erasure,
  • right to restrict personal data processing,
  • right to data portability,
  • right to lodge a complaint.

Data subjects are free to exercise their rights in written or via email using the above-mentioned contact details.

According to the General Data Protection Regulation, the data controller must respond to a request concerning the enforcement of the rights of a data subject within one month of receiving the request.

Should you feel that the processing of your personal data violates the applicable data protection regulation, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a national supervisory authority.
